How long after topical flea treatment can I use a Seresto collar?

To be safe, you should wait 2-3 weeks before switching to a Seresto collar. IN the meantime, treat the environment for fleas. Vacuum everywhere then dispose of the vacuum bag or empty the canister outdoors immediately after. Wash all bedding in the hottest water allowable by fabric. Use an area treatment, such as Indorex or Knockout ES, to kill fleas in the home. A majority of the flea population actually lives off the pet, hopping on to feed then hopping off. Discuss a product to kill adult fleas with your veterinarian. CapStar would be safe to use even if you applied a topical preventive. However, it will only kill adult fleas that are on Tybalt.

I would recommend to wait a couple of days before applying the new flea treatment. Give him a bath the same day you remove the collar, wait 48 hours and then apply the drops. Yes, you can absolutely place the Seresto collar on Figgy after a flea and tick bath. If you are still seeing live fleas, it may also be worth giving him a dose of Capstar, which will kill the adult fleas quickly, providing a bit of relief. It is ok to use Seresto along with other topical products, just not oral ones. In some pets there can be a little skin irritation, so watch out for that and notify your vet if this happens. Otherwise, you should be fine to go ahead with Seresto to see if this does the trick. I would also recommend using a flea fogger to treat your home, which can be found at your local Home Depot or Lowe's. If you still don't have good results with the Seresto collar, then I would wait at least 2 weeks and consider better products such as Simparica or Nexgard. Cats are exquisitely sensitive to flea medication, so I would not put the Seresto collar on Willow just yet. Wait at least two weeks, then apply it. You can give her Capstar now. It’s a one time pill that starts killing fleas and is safe to give. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! You can't combine the other orals with the one you gave. Personally I would just wait the 2 weeks. You can use the Seresto collar but that lasts for 8 months so I see not point then of using a new product. All the topical medications last 1 month. It would just save you money to wait and check him over well for ticks. I like Nexgard, Bravecto or Simparica for the oral flea and tick and the Seresto collar. I wish you the best!

1 flea bite can make an allergic dog itch for several weeks so you may need medicine to treat the itching while the fleas get under control. You can administer the bravecto at any point when you remove the collar. A good bath will help also
