Why is my dog's scrotum black and irritated? Should I worry?

  From the pictures this looks like normal pigmentation but of course I cannot say hat for sure without doing my own exam. If the skin is smooth, not flakey, and the testicles don’t feel hard or painful then this is likely normal. If there is anything that’s looks abnormal or you aren’t sure then I would have your vet take a peek just to make sure. Epididymitis usually causes a testicle to swell and become hard.   Sometimes dogs start to have more pigment in various areas of their skin as they start to age - it's possible that this is just pigment and nothing to be concerned about. If Dollar has been licking the area or if he has had a skin infection on his scrotum this could also lead to black pigment in the skin. I would recommend having your veterinarian take a look when you're able to make an appointment.

  This is just normal pigmentation and nother to worry about. This could have always been there or the skin could have changed colors after a skin infection in the past. No big deal unless it starts to bother him or change. I hope this helps!
