Why is my dog scratching her eye, mouth, and losing hair? What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 20 days old | 25 lbs

Betsy has been scratching her right eye and mouth, losing hair.. not sure how to help her.

Hello. I would really recommend having Betsy examined by your veterinarian. My guess is this is demodectic mange & this can be easily diagnosed with a simple procedure called a skin scrape. If this is demodectic mange, treatment can be started & Betsy will have her good looks back in no time. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

    Place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent further scratching or rubbing. Have her examined by your veterinarian to diagnose and treat any infection or injury. She may have localized infection or inflammation which may require treatment.
