Why is my 6-year-old German Shepherd scratching with belly bumps?

It's a little difficult to tell from your picture, but I think the spot on the muzzle looks more like a skin mass or growth that could be infected or inflamed. The other spots look like they might be signs of a bacterial or fungal skin infection which can occur secondary to allergies. I'd recommend having your vet take a look in person.

This could be what is called puppy pyoderma which is usually caused by bacterial infection. Sometimes a medicated shampoo bath helps but other times antibiotics are needed from your veterinarian. If the spots do not clear up within a 1 to 2 days, or Storm has any signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, or the rash gets worse then she should be seen by her veterinarian.

This redness indicates inflammation and is usually itchy. It's good to check her for fleas and get treatment if needed. This pattern is more suspicious of mange, which is a mite infestation. A veterinarian can check for these mites and prescribe treatment. One thing you can do for itchy skin, is give a bath with cool water using an oatmeal or aloe shampoo. You can get these shampoos at the pet store. This looks like an allergic reaction to something or general allergies. Make sure he is on a good veterinary prescribed flea control. You can try to shampoo him in a chlorhexidine shampoo to help heal the red bumps. You can also Give him 75 mg (3 adult) Benadryl to help with any itching. If he isn't itching and/or the bumps aren't improving, I would contact your vet for an exam to ensure he doesn't need a stronger allergy medicine or antibiotics. I hope this helps!

Poor Gabby sounds like she has a lot going on at the moment! It could be that these bumps are due to an allergic reaction, which is why she is scratching a lot. She could also have a skin infection, fleas, or mites. I would have Gabby seen by a vet today. The vet can determine what is causing the bumps and the scratching, and can treat her for it. Until you can get her into a vet, you can try giving her an Epsom salt bath or an oatmeal bath. Either may temporarily help with her itchiness.

This presentation is due to a skin infection, possibly caused by bacteria. A veterinary consultation is needed in these cases as antibiotics will be quickly resolving this problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching (if any).
