My dog is scratching raw. Can I use Revolution after Pet Armor Plus?

I would not be worried if the flea is dead. It means the product is working. Unfortunately the flea does have to come into contact with the product in order to then die, so you may see a few fleas but they should be dead. Also I would try to cut back on the frequency of the baths because this can strip some of the product from the skin, making it less effective. A bath once every 2-4 weeks is ideal. Mia likely is scratching because she has dry skin due to overbathing or she is reacting to the flea you recently found on her. Try to use a conditioner to help rehydrate her skin and then ask your vet about any antihistamines that can be prescribed to help with her itching if it’s still present. Yes, it certainly could be Parker is having a reaction to the Revolution. I'd have him seen by a vet asap to get this itching and wounds treated and to discuss another flea medication for him. An oral one may be better.

Hi ! Can you still spot presence of fleas ? You should look for flea dirt more than adult fleas, tiny black dots that dissolve when put in contact with water on a white tissue . You can use a flea comb for this purpose and then wipe it on the wet tissue to see if there is any evidence of flea dirt. If you have established that there still are fleas, then it could be that when you applied the product it did not actually reach the skin surface. I would recommend to speak to your veterinarian with regards to an additional product to kill flea eggs and arrange an appointment perhaps with a technician to show you how to best administer this treatment, good luck and I hope everything goes well !

I would refrain from reapplying this topical product, because you cannot be sure how much of it was rinsed off and it is best to not overdose him. Also the biting and scratching can be normal for any pet that has just received flea preventative if there was a large infestation of fleas. The "itch cascade" as we call it can last even after the parasites are gone, and often pets require a short course of steroids or a steroid shot to stop the itch completely. Your best option at this point, if you still see evidence of fleas or ticks, is to follow up with a medication called Capstar. This is the only flea ridding product that can be used in conjunction with topical flea preventatives, because it does not last in the pets system very long. You can safely redose the Pet armour in 2 weeks time. However I will say I am not a fan of this product and find there are better, more effective ones on the market. For instance, Bravecto, Nexgard, Advantage Multi, just to name a few.

In dogs, itching at the ears is a sign of an ear infection, but those can be caused by yeast or bacteria in addition to ear mites. There's no problem giving Bella the Revolution, as she needs protection from fleas, but have her seen by the vet for scratching at her ears to make sure this behavior isn't caused by bacteria or yeast. Revolution does not protect against fleas, so I'd recommend using a medication such as Nexgard which protects against fleas and ticks (including American dog ticks). It's a monthly oral flea treatment program. That way, you don't need to combine two medications to give Candy protection against fleas and ticks. Typically, I do not recommend using two different flea treatment programs togethers. The American dog tick can spread diseases such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever and Tularemia. Oh poor girl. It looks like she has a hypersensitivity to the Revolution. This isn't very common, but it can happen on occasion in some pets. I would recommend washing as much of the product off as possible with a Betadine solution diluted 50:50 with warm water. Then you can apply a "hot spot" spray ok to use in cats, from your local pet store to the area until it is healed. If it is having a hard time healing properly, then it is best to have your vet look at it and prescribe stronger medication for Georgia. I hope this clears up soon and for next go round, I would recommend trying another product such as Advantage Multi for cats.
