Dog has red spots on belly and feels hot. Is it an allergic reaction?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Female | spayed | 7 months and 22 days old | 45 lbs

Hi, since this morning I realized my dog has red spot in her belly and I feel her a little hot. It's seem to be a allergic reaction but I don't know what could it be. The last time that this append was because the food, but she has used the food that she is eating since three months ago, so I don't know if that could be :( Thank you for your help

It looks like Frida has a bacterial skin infection which could be secondary to allergies. You could bathe her with a medicated dog shampoo, like Epi-Soothe, and see if that helps. Otherwise, she should be examined by your vet for treatment. She might need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or a corticosteroid to help treat. Hope she gets better soon!
