This could be a skin infection caused by a fungus or bacteria or and old injury or bite and in worst case scenario it could be a tumor. Please have this examined by your veterinarian. If he suspects a tumor, he will likely want to remove it and send it in to determine whether it is malignant and your dog needs further treatment. If it is an infection your dog may need an antifungal or antibiotic ointment. It may just be a scab from an old wound and might need no treatment. Your vet will be able to determine that with a hands-on exam.

I am not sure what it is, it could be an old insect bite, a fungal or bacterial infection, an allergic reaction or even the beginning of a lump. i would recommend monitoring it in the next couple weeks, if it seems to get bigger/worse- take Vilma to the vet in order to get it checked.

I would recommend that you have Georgia examined by a vet. There can be many causes for a bump such as this, including insect bite reaction, deep bacterial or fungal infection, skin cancer, autoimmune disease, etc. After a thorough examination, your vet may recommend a biopsy to make a definitive diagnosis.

I suspect this may be an infected cyst. These are very common in older dogs. They usually need antibiotic therapy to improve, and occasionally need surgical removal. This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. Poor Loca! There are a number of skin problems that can cause scabbed-over sores like this. The most common possibilities would include allergies, fleas, a bacterial or fungal skin infection, or skin mites (mange). Treatment recommendations would depend on the underlying problem, so I would recommend having Loca examined by a vet as soon as you are able to. He/she can do some simple skin tests to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate medication to treat it.

There could be several causes for this hairless area. Toothless could have picked up a skin might or an allergy. Sometimes pets can develop what’s called an acral lick and it can also look like this. Ringworm, which humans can get, or a bacterial infection all also look like this. At home you may continue to put ointment on it and prevent him from licking the area by having him wear an Elizabethan collar at all times.
