My dog just recently developed this red scabbed patch on his leg. It's right above his carpal pad about a quarter in size. It hasn't changed much at all since we first noticed it a few days ago. Any ideas on what it could be and if he needs to be taken in for treatment?

It does seem infected and the best thing to do is clean it like you have already. It maybe from a bite and he has scratched it to make it worse. Since you already cleaned it, apply neosporin to keep the scab from forming and help heal it. If it is not better in a a day or so then I would have your vet checked it
