My dog just had puppies. What's this red sac from her vagina?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | unspayed | 1 year old | 60 lbs

My dog had 9 pups 2 days ago. There is a red sac stickingout of her puttutti what is that? Should i be worried

This could be a prolapsed vagina or even a prolapsed uterus or urinary bladder, You will need to take Katniss and her babies to a vet preferably now. You can put a moist cloth on the red sac to keep it from drying out. It will need to be put back inside so there is no permanent damage to her vagina or uterus. If it is a prolapsed urinary bladder this would be a serious emergency. Please take her now,

It could be vaginal hyperplasia or a vaginal or cervical prolapse. If she can still urinate, it is not a medical emergency, but it will need to be addressed by a vet. If she cannot urinate, then it is a medical emergency and she needs immediate veterinary care. She will likely need to be spayed and may need the tissue tacked back into place depending on the diagnosis.

This is likely the amniotic sac or a placenta. If Iris has been having strong contractions without producing a kitten, she needs to be evaluated by a veterinarian immediately. Never pull on anything that is hanging out of her since you don't know exactly what it is. Occasionally they can prolapse part of their uterus and if you pull on it you will make it drastically worse. My dog's vagina is swollen after heat. Could it be prolapse?

This looks like a vaginal prolapse. That is when the vagina turns inside out. This is very swollen and needs to be lubricated and then manipulated back into place. You can clean it gently with a warm wet cloth, then apply KY Jelly to it or Vaseline to protect the sensitive skin from injury, then I'd bring her in tomorrow morning to get this examined and treated. No, do not attempt to pull it out. It could be a mass or a vaginal prolapse. Either condition needs to be addressed by your veterinarian. If she allows, get her into a carrier and take her to your veterinarian or the nearest veterinary ER. Left untreated, she is at risk of serious infection.

Oh no, poor Ella! It does sound like she has a vaginal prolapse. I would have her seen be vet right away. If the tissue is left out too long, blood supply could be cut off leading to death of the tissue and/or the tissue could become infected. I would take Ella into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see her now.

It could be a vaginal prolase of a vaginal tumor. You should take Gracie to your vet right away as there are a number of concerns for these condition. First of all, some dogs may have problems to urinate, which is a serious emergency. Secondly, some dogs want to bite the protruding 'mass' and by doing that they will make it bleed and introduce infection. Vaginal prolapse is not always a surgical condition (it often responds to medical treatment) while vaginal tumor should be surgically removed.
