My dog has a red lump under dew claw that bled. Should I see a vet?

Hi and thanks for posting. From the picture, it looks like the declaw is bent back a bit and there appears to be a lot of redness and swelling around the base of the declaw. I do see a raised portion of the skin around the declaw. It does appear infected. I would recommend Mia see a veterinarian for this as soon as possible. If the declaw is broken, it may need to be clipped back so it can grow back normally and Mia may need to get on antibiotics for this as well. I hope this helps!

I see what you mean about the red lump on Charlie's neck. It could be a cyst, a benign growth, or potentially a malignant growth if he's an older dog. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. Hello. In all honesty, all lumps & bumps should be investigated. I can not say with any certainty whether this is a benign or malignant tumor, a cyst or an infection. It really needs a hands on examination, possibly with a small biopsy called a fine needle aspirate, to determine its make-up. It sounds like Ruger could have traumatized his paw or may have an infection or a cyst there. It's not an emergency but I'd make an appointment to see your vet as sometimes they need systemic medications to get it to heal, since it's difficult to put topical medication on the paw.

You can take him to your vet tomorrow, it's not an emergency. this lump needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take him to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

Poor girl. Yes I would recommend taking her to the vet for this bleeding mass. Often times masses on young dogs are histiocytomas (benign tumors) and can spontaneously regress within 2-4 weeks. However getting this cleaned properly and a short course of anti-inflammatory medication, antibiotics and a temporary bandage are likely needed to help manage this wound in the meantime. Oh no, poor Coby! He could have a foreign body in his paw causing the bump, bleeding, and his licking it raw.
