What's this red knot on my dog's face & irritated skin on his chest?

This looks like an infected skin wound. It is possible that the wound was due to some sort of trauma or it could be because Noah was scratching. Either way, Noah will need oral antibiotics in order for this wound to heal. It is unlikely that any topical treatment alone will help.

That lesion is very irritated on Nana's poor little neck! Lesions like this can be related to trauma, a skin infection, the beginning of a hot spot or an infected cyst under the skin. I can't tell from the photo, but if it looks like bruising, then there is also a concern for a bleeding disorder and she needs to get to the vet right away. Assuming there is no bruising, I recommend to have the lesion examined by the veterinarian since it is so red. There are a few things you can do at home that may help until you get her into the vet. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You can wash the lesion with soap once a day and rinse well (don't wash her whole body, just the spot). Protect the areas from licking or scratching. The best thing would be to have your veterinarian take a look at it to determine the exact cause and the best way to treat. He may need an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory. If you can't take him to a vet, then you could bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo and apply an antibiotic cream and see if it resolves.

That looks like it could be some sort of parasite larva or a tick. Certain types of flies will lay the eggs on the skin and the larva can migrate into the skin. Ticks are usually dark colored but variations can occur. Regardless, I recommend to have Luna visit her veterinarian today. Larva tends to be fragile and you don’t want it to tear and leave a pice if it’s body in the skin. Ticks are easier to remove but sometimes the heads will tear off and remain embedded in the skin. First of all, in order to rule out skin parasites, you will need to treat with a high quality flea treatment, then ask the vet to perform a skin scrape - this might reveal an infection or a mite infestation. If all of those came back negative, the next step is to treat the allergy symptomatically and try to discover the cause of the allergy. Three main type of allergies are usually affecting pets: food allergies, flea and parasite related ones and environmental type (allergens coming from trees, pollens, dust etc etc). Some medications can be given by the vet in order to repair any possible skin lesions (like steroids and antibiotics). The region shown in the picture is consistent with a hotspot. Hot spots occur when an animal scratches or choose at an until damage is done to the skin. They can often progressbvery quickly and become quite severe if not treated. If the area is continuing to enlarge or if Garret seems uncomfortable I would recommend that you have him seen by your veterinarian. Your veterinarian may clip and clean the area and prescribe medications to help it heal. In the meantime I would recommend that you try to prevent Garret from scratching at the area. You can put a t-shirt on him to protect that area.
