Dog has red spots, sore hot spots, and won't eat. What should I do?

Hello doc. My boerbel dog has red spots on his skin and on his two hind legs are sore like wounds like a hot spot wound, and he's not also eating properly. What can i do to treat it? Thanks . am Jane from Nigeria

It sounds like Merlin may ha e a skin infection, called pyoderma. Other possibilities include fungal infection, immune disorder, or even cancer. I would highly encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. In the meantime you can consider bathing in chlorhexidine or salicylic acid shampoo. These can be found in the human shampoo aisle in the dandruff area. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
