My dog died with bleeding, pale gums, and green stool. Rat poison?

I am so very sorry that your dog passed away suddenly! Without seeing him in person, I can't say exactly what caused him to pass away unfortunately. The pale gums are a concerning sign, as they are caused by anemia and internal bleeding. It could be that he got into something toxic causing the pale gums, and then leading him to pass away. He also could have had a tumor that ruptured, or cancer that had spread. If you'd like answers, I'd recommend taking him into the vet for a necropsy (an autopsy for dogs). Doing that will hopefully give you some more definitive answers. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear about Sky. I can only imagine what you are dealing with at this moment. Based on what you described, I would be suspicious of rat bait poisoning. Rat bait works quickly (effects can start within a few hours) and bleeding is the main consequence. The only other thing that would possibly look like this would be a ruptured abdominal tumor (cancer). This is generally a condition that effects older dogs. Its not uncommon that the pet will act completely normal until the tumor actually ruptures. Mortality is very high. Once again, I'm sorry for your loss. Hi, I'm pretty concerned about Moose. The color of his poop does definitely resemble rat poison, but if it's passed through him and he's currently not showing signs of illness then he may be ok. There are two main groups of rodent poisons, one causes the body to lose vitamin K and then bleeding starts, the other affects the nervous system. If it's the former type, then giving him vitamin k by mouth will help him to prevent bleeding. If its the latter, and he starts having tremors or loss of coordination, he will need supportive care from his vet. Hello. I am so sorry for your loss. It would be impossible for me to diagnose exactly what took Qra's life, but all the symptoms describe a gastrointestinal problem. This could include anything from a severe parasite problem to a twist or intussusception, blockage, or even a cancer like lymphoma. First off, I am so very sorry that Lawiswis died today! If he had rabies, you would see significant behavioral changes such as aggression, and rabies is passed via bites not licking. If he had blood in his stool and wasn't eating, I would be very concerned he had parvovirus. It's a life threatening GI infection in unvaccinated dogs and puppies that is too often fatal and causes bloody stool and anorexia. That would be the most likely cause of his death, and you cannot get parvovirus. In the future, make sure any puppy you gets vaccines from the vet. Again, I am so very sorry for your loss :-(

I am so sorry for your loss! I am not sure if rabies exist in the phillippines. I would recommend contacting your local vet/ state department to discuss the possibility of rabies in your area and see what they advise. In the united states rabies present with foaming at the mouth and severe behavioral changes like aggression. Typically bloody stool is not associated. In the unites states I would tell you to not be concerned. However in your area I would recommend following up with a local vet. Again sorry for your loss
