Why does my dog have a rash, red bumps, and dark skin on her neck?

A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking/scratching. It's hard to know exactly why she has the brownish discoloration. certainly you should try switching her to a different flea product and remove the collar. It may take up to two months for any discoloration to disappear. You could then try switching the collar to a nylon or fabric collar, again, it may take up to two months. In the mean time, there are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing Haddie's diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. Also protect the area from trauma by having Haddie wear an elizabethan collar if she is itching. Have her examined by the veterinarian if it appears to be getting worse. I am sorry to hear about Bella! It looks like perhaps she could have developed a rash due to the contact with her collars. Some dogs seems more sensitive to having collars, or if the collars haven't been washed in awhile or got wet and were wet against the skin it can cause irritation. You can try washing the area with a colloidal oatmeal shampoo from your vet or the pet store, and letting her go without a collar when indoors. You can put a harness on or get a new clean collar or a rolled leather collar which may cause less irritation to the skin. If the problem persists, a visit to the vet is recommended.

They look like scratches, that are trying to heal. I would check the ears to make sure there is no wax or infection causes any irritation to scratch in that area. You can place neosporin on the scabs to help dry then up. If they do it GI away after a few days or get worse then I would see your vet
