Is my dog pregnant? How to confirm early pregnancy at 30 days?

There is no medicine to confirm pregnancy. You can do an ultrasound at 28 days and an X-ray after 50 days. I wish you the best!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Honey is super cute! Dogs are pregnant for 60-63 days. Puppies can be seen on ultrasound around 28 days pregnant and on X-ray around 50 days. An ultrasound depends on your area. A full abdominal ultrasound in my area (east coast) is around $400 but may be cheaper if just checking for puppies. You would have to call around. Or you can wait until day 50 (from her being let outside) and have your Vet take an X-ray, which is probably only $100. Another option if you do not want puppies, is to have spayed immediately. This is more likely to be due to a real pregnancy. Definitive confirmation can be obtained by your local veterinarian by performing an abdominal ultrasound. From day 36-40 of pregnancy x rays will be diagnostic as well.

To determine pregnancy in dogs, sometimes the sacs can be palpated as small tennis ball like objects, starting at about 28 days - however this is variable. Ultrasound starting at day 28, and x-rays at day 45. Human pregnancy tests are NOT reliable. Best of luck with Daisy!

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Around day 30 of pregnancy is typically when you can detect the puppies on an ultrasound. I would wait 3-4 weeks and have Nala seen by her veterinarian to confirm with ultrasound. I hope this helps!

A check up at your local veterinarian could easily confirm the pregnancy. Depending on which stage of the pregnancy she is, different type of diagnostic techniques can be used (mainly radiographs vs ultrasound). The other way would be to wait and see her completing the pregnancy (about 60 days).
