My dog has pneumonia. Should I worry if they are sleeping a lot?

Although puppies do sleep often during the day they should be very lively in between naps and the naps should be shorter as they get to 4-5months old. I would be concerned this is not a habit but that your puppy is acutally unwell - this is not normal puppy behavior. Please have him assessed by your vet as soon as possible to determine any underlying medical causes

Main signs can be hyperthermia, lethargy,inappetence, weakness/exercise intolerance, cough, dyspnoea (with rapid and superficial breathing), abnormal stance due to breathing abnormalities, in severe cases nasal discharge. Other signs may be related to the origin of pneumonia (can be bacterial, viral, tumoral, parasitic and so on). Other signs may be present but are related to specific tests (x rays, blood tests and so on). If your pup is having a lot of trouble breathing and you are concerned he is in respiratory distress, then I would have him seen by a vet as soon as possible. It's always fine to have your dog checked out by a vet if you are very concerned. Otherwise, I'd wait the three days and see if he improves before taking him back into the vet. Puppies generally sleep a lot, most days between 14-18 hours, this is quite normal but if you see other symptoms such as lethargy or lack of appetite then something might be wrong with Aira, in that case you should take her to the vet for a checkup.

Puppy's getting sleepy after their shots is a normal reaction to vaccinations. They can also have a low grade fever and/or one bout of vomiting/diarrhea normally that are no cause for concern. The concern arises when your pet is severely lethargic, not eating, non-responsive, pale gums, or excessive vomiting/diarrhea. If you notice any of these symptoms then it is best to take puppy to a vet asap for immediate care, because a mores serious vaccine reaction is occurring at that point.

However, it could also be that this is Loki's typical behavior and sleeping pattern during the day while you are away from home. Dogs usually sleep most of the day and that is normal. If he is otherwise doing fine then he is most likely just fine. If you notice any other signs of illness such as inappetence, vomiting or diarrhea, have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment. Otherwise, he is likely just fine.
