My dog's paws bleed after playing on a tennis court. What to do?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 61 lbs

Hi! I'm having problems with my 6 year old dog. She loves to play and run around, but the only place I can let her go off leash is a tennis court. She keeps scraping her carpal pad and bleeds! Is there a way I can prevent this? I still want her to run around, just minus her bleeding every time.

I would see if Lady will wear booties.

You can get ones with some traction.

Besides booties there is really nothing to stop her from scraping her paws on a tennis court.

I hope these help.
