My dog is panting, shaking, and won't settle after I cooled him. Why?

These can be symptoms of many serious medical issues, anxiety, fear, pain, neurologic disease, infection, etc. I would recommend that you have him checked out by a vet to see what could be going on. After a thorough physical exam and discussion of his recent history, the vet may recommend diagnostics, such as blood work, x-rays, ultrasound, etc. to diagnose the cause.

Bailey is experiencing very general symptoms of disease, these symptoms could fit almost any internal condition, maybe she is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe she is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking her to the vet as soon as possible in order to get her checked, if he doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with her.

She could be experiencing pain somewhere or even anxiety for some reason. Her veterinarian will do a thorough examination and assess her pain. Hello. Making any kind of assumption or diagnosis is very difficult just based on panting & shivering, but I can tell you this can be typical signs of pain & an elevated temperature. Since he has periods of normal behavior, my concerns is there is some underlying pain that JosLouis is experiencing. It could be from any area, so even if he quits the behavior, I would recommend having your vet check him out, just to make sure. Hope all is well soon. I'm sorry to hear that Lola is not acting herself. Shaking and panting could be signs of several different things such as pain, anxiety or early signs of illness. If she's acting normal otherwise, I would watch her closely. If she goes back to her normal self tomorrow, there is probably nothing to worry about. If she continues this tomorrow, especially if other signs of illness develop, I would take her to a veterinarian. Please do not give her any over the counter human medication such as aspirin, ibuprofen or Tylenol as these can have serious side effects in animals. If you feel that she is in pain, it would be best to take her to a veterinarian tonight.

I am sorry ot hear about Quica. Shivering and panting can be a sign of extreme anxiety, pain, respiratory distress, ingestion of a toxin, and more. If she is continuing this behavior and there is nothing going on that could be causing anxiety (such as fireworks or loud noises), I would recommend bringing her into the vet for an examination.

Panting can be due to pain, anxiety, fever, respiratory troubles, etc. Warm can be due to pain, anxiety, fever, and other conditions. If Bear is not eating, drinking, or is just lying there panting, or having vomiting, diarrhea, or seems painful, then I would get him to a vet. Other conditions include heart failure, blood clots, etc. As you can see there are many causes of panting and being warm. If Bear is acting abnormal in any other way get him to the vet right away. Otherwise you can monitor but if the panting is abnormal for his behaviour and continues for the next 30min or so I would take him to a vet. Best of luck with Bear!
