Pet's info: Dog | Rough Collie | Female | 2 years and 3 months old | 10 lbs
My dog was outside and breathing fast.. i get him under AC and after 7 hours he still breath fast! But he played with me , run and eat. What’s maybe wrong?

Hello. I see you are in a very warm area of the world, so it is possible that Lassie, with his heavy coat, is still warm. But, if it is at all possible that he did get overheated & suffered a bit of heat stroke, he may need medical attention. Can you obtain a rectal temperature. Although it may be in the normal range now ( 101.5-103.5 F ), anything over 103.5 F might indicate a respiratory infection. We do not want to take much of a watch & wait attitude, as any breathing concerns can become more serious, especially if there is truly an underlying medical cause. If you are truly concerned, please see your veterinarian. It is always better to be safe than sorry. I hope Lassie is doing well soon & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
