My dog is panting a lot after surgery and on medication. Is it stress?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 7 years and 4 months old | 53.5 lbs

Recently had sedation for X-ray, teeth cleaning & removal of a few skin tags. All is welll! He does have a bandage on his on arm & is on an anti inflammatory & antibiotic. We have been sleeping in a different room than normal so he doesn’t have to jump. Haven’t been able to go for normal walks. He seems to be panting/breathing a very little more than usual ... should I be getting this checked or could it be stress from all of the above?

I think that with any abnormal behavior you should call your vet for advice since they knew all that went on. I'm assuming he is taking some medications? The excessive panting could be from that. I think you should just check in with them to be on the safe side!
