My dog's gums are pale and cold, and he's not eating. Is it an emergency?

Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. This could absolutely be due to anemia given her pale mucous membranes. I recommend that you have Snow evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Poor Chloe! If her tongue and gums look white instead of pink, this is a medical emergency - she needs to be seen by a vet right away. This can be caused by internal bleeding, heart failure, or severe shock. The red spots on her body could be related to a bleeding disorder, or could be unrelated. The emergency vet can do blood work to help determine what's wrong and get her started on appropriate treatment right away.

If she has pale gums then she needs to be examined by a vet immediately to determine the cause and treat, especially if she also has abnormal breathing. Please call your vet or go to an emergency clinic. She could have an infection, parasite, clotting/bleeding problem, hemolytic anemia, mass, etc. and may need immediate treatment.

Oh dear! Pale or white gums can be associated with severe anemia, shock, or heart failure - this is a very concerning sign that warrants immediate veterinary attention. A warm dry nose is a pretty non-specific sign that doesn't really mean anything in particular, and a pale or thinning haircoat can be associated with any kind of long-term illness. It sounds like Bae may be seriously ill, so I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic tonight to be seen. If this isn't possible, then I would take him to your regular veterinarian first thing in the morning. Your veterinarian can do blood work, x-rays, or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem and see what kind of treatment is needed.

Poor Boomer! I'm afraid this sounds quite serious. It's hard to say what might be going on without being able to examine him in person and run some tests, but these are very concerning symptoms. Pale pink gums are generally a sign of shock or blood loss, which is a medical emergency. Abdominal pain, lethargy, and not eating or drinking could be caused by a number of different things including pancreatitis, an intestinal obstruction, a systemic illness like liver or kidney disease, a bleeding abdominal tumor, or ingestion of something toxic. This sounds like it may be a life-threatening problem, so I would recommend taking Boomer to the vet immediately for an exam. He/she can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get him started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.

I hate to hear that about Kiwee. He is very sick and needs to see a veterinarian. The pale gums are very concerning for internal bleeding, very low blood pressure or a bone marrow suppression. All of these are serious and require immediate care that only a veterinarian at a clinic will be able to treat. I am very concerned for Bonnie, as a senior, she is more likely to have an issue with her circulation - this could be heart disease or possibly a tumor affecting her inside. The pale tongue and gums worry me. Take her to see your vet as soon as you can. I hope they will find something that can be resolved for her.
