Why is my dog not moving, screaming, tail down, and eating poop?

If she is yelling in pain I highly recommend bringing her to a veterinarian so they can provide pain medication. Most over the counter medications are toxic to dogs. She needs a veterinarian to help diagnose her and treat her. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Gage! I would worry that Gage has hurt his back or neck. This is how they tend to act. They also don’t jump up in furniture like normal and avoid the stairs. They cry when touched, picked up or move. I would take him in to your vet today before the holiday for an exam. I treat neck and back pain with anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants and pain medications. I wish Gage a speedy recovery!

Based on your description I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Buzz so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. She may be standing differently due to abdominal pain or if her butt and tail are in a different position, she may have an anal gland issue. Her eyes look squinted in the photo, and perhaps have a moderate amount of clear discharge. It is concerning that she is reluctant to move, as this can be a sign of pain, fever, nausea, or several other symptoms. Your dog could have hip or back problems that make it painful to posture to defecate and would also make it hurt when her tail is manipulated. It could also be infected or inflamed anal glands. This condition is very painful and makes it difficult to defecate or even move. Without treatment, the gland may rupture, causing a open wound on your pet's rear that will require wound care and antibiotics as well as some pain relief. I recommend getting your pet seen by your vet. They will examine your pet, possibly do some x-rays and labwork and be able to give you a better idea of what is going on and how best to treat it.
