My dog is not eating, has fever, bumps, and pus. Is it cancer?

That would be unusual for him to have Valley Fever. Your vet could biopsy the lesions to help diagnose the problem. If your vet can not diagnose than you could take your dog to a veterinary dermatologist to help determine the exact cause. Also, if he has not been on an antibiotic than your vet could try an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory and see if that helps. Hope he feels better soon!

When there is pus there is generally an infection. Try to clean the area with mild soap and water and flush out the prepuce as this can help. With sore legs and no appetite I would worry about arthritis either from age/injury or an immune mediated or tick borne disease. It is best to take him to the vet so they can do lab work to get you a definitive answer and start IV fluids if needed for dehydration. You can try pedialyte or Gatorade or boiled chicken and rice or yogurt or baby food to help until you can get him seen

Hi. This appears to be a skin infection. THese can be caused by bacteria, yeast, fleas, ticks, mites, food sensitivities, allergies, and more. I would recommned and exam and some skin testig with some antibiotics from your veterinarian. Good luck

Your vet may want to perform an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy to sample the bump and determine its underlying nature. Differentials would include skin cysts, infections, benign or more malignant type of tumors. This lump on Siu q could be a benign tumor, a cyst, an abscess, or a lipoma. It would be rare for such a young dog to have a malignant tumor, but it is possible. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would take Siu q into the vet today or tomorrow to have this lump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated as needed. As for the lack of appetite and lethargy, those are very general signs of illness in dogs, and it could be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. Because Siu q is going to see the vet for this lump, I would have a health check done on her as well to diagnose the cause of the lethargy and lack of appetite.

This presentation is due to a diffuse and quite severe pyoderma. A medicated shampoo, systemic antibiotics and a check up are absolutely needed to solve the problem. Pyoderma could be secondary to other diseases which cause immunosuppression.
