My dog won't eat for 8 days, even after trying remedies. What now?

But not eating is a very general sign of illness and she needs bloodwork anlaysis + urinalysis to look at her body systems to determine what the underlying cause of her ailment is. Also she is an older dog so neoplasia (cancer) has to be considered if all her labs come back negative, at which point further testing like an ultrasound or radiograph would be indicated. Your pet is very sick and will need proper testing to find the cause and hopefully there is a treatment specific to her disease condition available that can hopefully give her a good quality of life back. If her prognosis is deemed poor based on the findings, then palliative care (meds to make her comfortable from your vet) may be her best option.

It sounds as Julie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti nausea injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.
