My dog's nipple looks irregular and irritated. Is it just irritation?

I don't think this looks too concerning but if you are worried you should take him to your vet for an exam. If you want to try something on him at home, I would suggest you try this product. The area around the nipple appears to be a little red and irritated. If Bindi is licking the area it may be causing her some discomfort. I can see that Sir Nicholas has a small, raised, dark lesion by his nipple. This can be a mass under the skin, which may be malignant (likely to spread) or benign (unlikely to spread). I recommend having this area looked at by a vet. They will be able to either remove the mass completely and determine exactly what it is, or take smaller samples using a needle. This looks like a mild skin infection/inflammation. I suggest you use these medicated pads on it. If after about a week to 10 days of use, the lesion is not better or looks worse then your vet should examine him. That looks uncomfortable. It's impossible to know at this stage if the nipple is infected or if the skin on/around the nipple is inflamed and this is causing the enlarged size. The block dots could be flea dirt, blocked pores or debris Patrick has laid in. Your best option is to have Patrick examined by the veterinarian and to get medications to help the itchiness. These lesions could be several things including fleas, allergies, skin mites, bacterial infection, ringworm (which humans can get) or endocrine disease. If you can't get him in to the veterinarian, there are a couple things you can do at home and they can help but they may not address the underlying cause. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing his diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesions once a day (not his whole body, just the lesions). Also protect the area from trauma by having your pup wear an elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesions do not start improving within a week or if they are getting worse, have him examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

It is possibly local skin fold infection or mild inflammation around the nipple. Please, clean the area with antiseptic skin solution (ideally containing 4% chlorhexidine, for example Hibiclens) twice a day for 4-5 days. If it does not get better, you will need to take Lady to your local vets for a check.

It is concerning that the sore is so red, as this may be a sign of an infection or a tumor. I recommend having Ashton looked at by a vet soon, especially if the area is bothering Ashton, or bleeding/having discharge.
