My spayed dog's nipple is bleeding. Is this normal or a vet emergency?

Just like in people, any unusual discharge from a nipple is not normal and could be a sign of mammary cancer. I do not think she needs to be rushed to a vet, however you should make an appointment with a vet to have it examined. It may be just mastitis, but it could be a malignant condition as well.

As long as Cocoa is acting normally otherwise you can probably wait to go to the veterinarian first thing tomorrow morning. However, if she shows any other abnormal signs then I would recommend going to the emergency veterinarian tonight. She may have a urinary tract infection, which although uncomfortable, is not an emergency to be seen immediately. There's a very small chance this could be related to something called stump pyometra which is an infection of the uterine stump in spayed female dogs. A stump pyometra can be an emergency, however usually would result in lethargy, fever, or inappetance. It sounds like Angel had a pyometra, which is a life threatening infection of the uterus. It is concerning that she is licking her genital area more again and you now see a discharge coming from that region. While you can see some bloody draining from the incision site, you typically do not see any coming from the genital region itself. Given her recent history of a pyometra and the fact that I can't see her in person to say if she is ok or not, I think taking her into the emergency clinic is the best idea.

No this is not normal, a spayed female should not be bleeding at all, either she has not been spayed properly or maybe she is suffering from a urinary disease, i would recommend taking her to the vet in order to get it checked.

Judging from the photos, it appears as though the area around the incision is slightly swollen with a small amount of blood evident. If Mia is otherwise normal and the color of her gums is nice and pink, I would suggest applying some pressure to the incision area and holding this for 10-15 minutes to see if the bleeding stops. With her being hyper, she certainly could have caused a blood vessel in her skin to begin bleeding. If the bleeding does not stop with pressure, I would get her examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Poor Bella. Bleeding from a nipple can be a sign of mastitis, which is fatal without treatment. Do not let the puppies nurse from that nipple, and take her and the puppies into a vet right away to get this treated.

Keep an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent licking. Restrict activity as much as possible. As long as there is no active bleeding, Lilo can likely wait until your veterinarian is available. If there is active bleeding, discharge, lethargy or fever then have her seen at the nearest veterinary ER.
