Pet's info: Dog | Vizsla | Male | neutered | 10 months old | 52 lbs
Hi, My dog just got neutered and we are seeing a lot of bruising. We weren’t sure if we should be concerned. He had a scrotum hematoma the day of his surgery and was put under twice. The bruising shown in the picture is also on the backside of his balls.

I agree that his incision is healing beautifully! The color change that you’re seeing on Pickle’s scrotum is bruising, which is very common and normal just a few days after surgery. The bruising should resolve within the next week or so. However, if it gets worse or if you also notice swelling of the scrotum, I’d recommend having him checked out by his vet. Based on the picture, I think it’s more than reasonable to simply keep an eye on him at home for now! Be sure that you’re using an e-collar (cone) for the next week or so to prevent Pickle from licking at his incision or scrotum as he continues to heal. I hope that everything goes well!
