My dog ate McDonald's eggs. Why is he vomiting with bloody diarrhea?

if the dog is still active I would recommend to monitor her (watch for activity level, appetite, water intake, vomiting and diarrhea) and keep her without food for about 12 hours, then introduce bland diet such as boiled chicken breast and rice. BUT if the vomiting continues despite all of this, or your dog seems to be becoming more depressed or listless, or the dog not eating then call your veterinarian or a local emergency hospital.

Likely the eggshells are the cause of Luke's diarrhea. I wouldn't be too worried just yet, and I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. Should the diarrhea continue on the bland diet, Luke starts vomiting, he stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, then I would be worried and have him seen by a vet.

If he is acting normal then you can withhold food for 12 hours and then offer him a small amount of a bland diet, like boiled chicken and white rice, and see how he does with that. You could also add a probiotic to his food. If the diarrhea continues, he starts vomiting, and/or becomes lethargic then he needs to be examined by a vet for treatment. He could have an infection, parasite, colitis, HGE, etc. and your vet can run lab-work to help diagnose and treat. Hope he feels better soon!

I would have phivo evaluated by a veterinarian. Vomiting and diarrhea with blood can be caused by viruses such as parvovirus (if he isn't vaccinated fully) or can be caused by irritation in the stomach and bowel from eating things he shouldn't or by certain foods that don't agree with him. A veterinarian will be able to make sure phivo is hydrated, give him medication for vomiting and diarrhea, and do tests such as fecal exam or x-rays to sort out what is going on. If you absolutely cannot get him in right away, I would fast him for 12 hours then feed a bland diet exclusively (boiled skinless chicken breast and white rice). I hope he is feeling better very soon !

Rockie is adorable and I'm sorry to hear that he isn't feeling well. After eating a heavy, greasy meal, he may have developed gastroenteritis (inflammation in his stomach and intestines) or pancreatitis. Aside from assuring that he is drinking water and offering a bit of a bland diet (boiled white meat chicken and rice) as you have done, there isn't anything more that can be done at home. Young puppies are more susceptible to the effects of dehydration than adult dogs and need to be treated a bit more urgently. At this point, Rockie needs to take a trip to the vet for an exam, diagnostic testing and supportive care (IV fluids and medications). I hope that he is feeling better soon!

Aw poor Jacky Gill! I'm very concerned about the blood in the vomit as this can indicate serve Gastrointestinal inflammation or ulcer formation. Jacky should see a veterinarian right away as he likely needs prescription medication to stop the vomiting and diarrhea. He may need fluids to help rehydrate him. It may also be a good idea to have X-rays done to ensure there is no intestinal blockage. Once he has received medical care a bland diet of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice may also help him recover. The color of the vomit could be caused by some blood (e.g. an injury in the esophagus) or coloring of the food he ate or severe inflammation somewhere in the gastrointestinal tract. Diarrhea and throwing up can have many causes. It is basically a problem with the stomach and intestines caused by a food over sensitivity, eating something that does not agree with the dog, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc.  I would fast Max for 24 hours and then put him on bland food for two days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to his regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the diarrhea or if the vomiting increases, or stays bloody, or if he gets lethargic, he needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection going on.
