My dog mated after heat bleeding stopped. Could she be pregnant?

You can have an ultrasound done at 28 days and/or X-rays find at 50 days to confirm pregnancy. Dogs are pregnant for 60-63 days. Good luck!

Any bleeding past 4 weeks, or if Cherri is acting sick, is concerning and she should see a Vet for an infected uterus (pyometra). It sounds like Cherri bled for about 21 days? If she has stopped I am hoping she is now out of heat. You can do an ultrasound around 30 days from breeding to check for fetal heart beats or take an X-ray at day 50 to look for mineralized skeletons to confirm if she is pregnant. There is a fairly good chance a mating with a tie may result in a pregnancy. You'll need to wait about 4 weeks after the mating to confirm via blood work, palpation or abdominal ultrasound. It will need to be confirmed by your veterinarian. There is a canine version of the "morning after" pill but you'll need to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible for it to be administered for maximum effect.

Typically when a bitch stops bleeding, it means that their heat is over, and if it stop over a week ago, then it's not likely Misty could get pregnant. Given that some dogs can bleed very little during their heat, so little that owners don't notice, I would keep them apart for another week to be safe.

Hello, It is not possible to tell if a dog has had sex. The vulva, or external female genitalia, experiences normal swelling during the heat cycle. Breeding may have triggered some blood that had been pooling. I wouldn't worry unless it continues or she is lethargic. But yes, she can still get pregnant. Good luck!

They normally stay joined for several minutes. Once the swelling from the male decrease they will part. There is s likely chance she may be pregnant from this but never a guarantee. The best recommendations are to breed a female after 18 months of age to allow full maturity. if she is younger than a year then she may need a c section to help with delivery. When she comes out of heat in 2 weeks then you can schedule to have her spayed before anything develops
