My dog is in pain, weak, not eating, has maggots. What can I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered

Hi good day my dog is very sick he got a hole by his tail on top and it's infested with maggots I got a medical powder that I am putting and it helped a lot the maggots started to drop out but he is in a lot of pain and is very weak he isn't a eating anything and he's letting out his poops jus like that on himself he's just laying there but he is awake I cannot afford a vet at this moment but I'm trying so hard to help him I gave him coconut water to drink but still he's weak

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I’m sorry to hear about Snuffy, he sounds like he has a really infected wound that is painful. If he is not eating and has lost control of his bowels, it may be time to think about his quality of life. I know veterinary visits can be expensive, and he would likely require an extensive amount of care to get better. In this case, it sounds like opting for humane euthanasia would be a viable option for him, to eliminate his suffering. I’m very sorry; I hope this is helpful.
