Why is my dog losing weight, doing prayer pose, and having diarrhea?

I am concerned that something serious is going on with your dog. I understand there may be no vets nearby but I think in this case ironworks be worth making a trip to a nearby city or town to seek out help. Vomiting and diarrhea together is commonly referred to as gastroenteritis. There can be several causes for gastroenteritis such as metabolic issues, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites and a foreign body/blockage. Because this has been going on for a while and your dog is losing weight I would recommend taking your dog to the vet to be evaluated. Your vet may recommend blood work and X-rays to figure out what exactly is going on. Your dog may need fluid if dehydrated, nausea medication and antibiotics. I hope this helps. Her symptoms could be due to any number of things: * intestinal parasites (worms) * endocrine disease (Cushings, thyroid, Addisons, etc) * liver, kidney or other organ failure/disease * cancer * etc...... Her symptoms sound serious and I think you need to have her examined by your veterinarian. Weeks of weight loss and diarrhea is not good. Even if the vet finds that it is just old age there are medications she can be given to help her walk better and be more comfortable.

It sounds as Yogi is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Poor Cloie! I can see that her stomach is very distended and her ribs are showing. The other signs you are describing are also very concerning. This can be caused by severe infection with intestinal parasites, organ failure and enlargement, internal bleeding, and possibly even a pyometra (infection of the uterus). I recommend having Cloie seen by a vet immediately, as she may need supportive care and stabilization. They can also perform bloodwork, x-rays, and an ultrasound to determine exactly what is going on. There are emergency clinics open in most towns and cities 24 hours/day. Poor Rosemary. Unfortunately, there are several things that can cause these symptoms like parasites, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, toxins, food allergy, bacterial or viral infections, and much more. I would have your vet take a look at her. Your vet will be able to do a fecal, blood work and even x-rays if needed. I am sorry to hear that your dog isn’t feeling well. Many different problems can cause the signs your are seeing. These include Addison’s disease, kidney disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and exocrine pancreatic Insufficiency , and even cancer. EPI is common in shepherds and this could certainly happen in young dogs. Ideally an examination and blood work should be done by a veterinarian for a diagnosis. If that is the problem then adding pancreatic enzymes such as Prozyme and feeding a bland diet such as hills i/d can make a big difference. Best of luck and I hope you get an answer soon. Poor Abby! She could have idiopathic epilepsy, an infection, inflammation, kidney disease, liver disease, electrolyte abnormality, endocrine disease, toxin, or a brain tumor. She really needs to be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat the problem. If she has idiopathic epilepsy than your vet can prescribe an anti-convulsant to help control the seizures.
