My dog's loose teeth don't seem to hurt him. Should I see a vet?

Poor Peanut! He definitely does need to have this checked out by a vet, since it sounds like he'll likely need to have the affected tooth extracted and the area checked to make sure he doesn't have a broken root still stuck in the tooth socket. But if he seems comfortable right now and isn't overly painful, it should be fine to wait until tomorrow and see your regular veterinarian rather than going to an ER tonight.

If it's a baby tooth, it is usually not a problem since they will fall out eventually. If it's an adult tooth that is hanging, she will likely need to be put under anesthesia to have it extracted as these broken adult teeth are very painful and prone to infection.

It looks like he chewed something hard enough to loosen them or injured them otherwise. Maybe he was chewing something, got his teeth caught, panicked, and tore loose. From his expression he doesn't seem to be in any pain but I would call your vet and describe the problem and see if they recommend coming in. It's not normal at all for Koda to scream when yawning, and the fact he's not biting down to eat his kibble. He may stop eating from the pain, which will lead to weight loss. In most cases such a condition should not require a vet visit or any pain killers, in some cases there could be an infection causing the tooth loss and that might need to be treated with antibiotics. If the pain does not seem to g away within a couple days- take Tucker to the vet in order to get it treated.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Lucky! If he has a visibly loose tooth and he is rubbing that side of his face it is very possible that he is in pain. But he also could have a skin infection or is experiencing an allergic reaction and him attacking that side of his face has nothing to do with the tooth. I think it is best to have him examined by your Vet. Have the raw skin addressed, his mouth evaluated and set up a dental procedure. When he is under anesthesia they can evaluated his gums and all his teeth and remove all that are infected. I hope this helps and I wish Lucky the very best!
