My dog is limping, sleepy, vomiting, and has diarrhea. What's wrong?

These symptoms don't easily fit the same picture, so I am not quite sure what is going on. I would recommend that you have Winston evaluated by a vet. A thorough physical and neurologic exam will be helpful in determine what is causing the limp and how the diarrhea plays into everything.

The two may or may not be related. It is hard to say. However if they are related then he will likely have a fever. You can check his rectal temperature and it should be between 100-102.5 degrees Fahrenheit. If it is high then I would suspect an infectious disease (tick borne disease), congenital bone disorder (femoral head necrosis) or septic arthritis could be causing Ollie's symptoms. Having some baseline bloodwork and a complete physical exam is a good place to start in trying to narrow down the possible causes of his ailment. If he is otherwise stable and eating, drinking normal, and able to go urinate and defecate normally, then he may be able to wait until morning to be seen by a vet. However, if he has pale gums, is lame to the point of being non-responsive, or starts vomiting excessively, then he needs to go to an ER vet right away. Best case scenario is that he has a muscle sprain and also had an upset stomach from something he ate. These would be easily treatable through the vet. You can try to offer him a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese to help settle his stomach tonight. It sounds as Lycan is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

It sounds like your dog is sick. The drooling can be due to nausea, and the lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, and diarrhea could be due to a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I would take your dog into a vet right away for an exam, he sounds quite ill with all these symptoms, and he needs to be medically treated ASAP.

Poor Lady! It sounds like something is definitely wrong. These are very concerning symptoms, but unfortunately they are also very vague and could be caused by almost any kind of serious illness. Some possible causes would include liver or kidney disease, pancreatitis, pyometra (a life-threatening uterine infection that is common in unspayed female dogs), or ingestion of something toxic. I'm afraid this sounds like it may be a life-threatening problem, so I would really recommend taking Lady to an emergency vet immediately for an exam. He/she can do some diagnostic testing if needed to help determine what's wrong and get her started on appropriate treatment for her illness.

Poor Harley does sound quite sick at the moment! It is concerning that he started to limp after taking a wee, and he could have injured, torn, or strained a ligament.
