What's wrong with my dog? Limping, not eating, diarrhea, drooling.

Something is wrong with my dog, she is limping, barely wants to get up , diarrhea and lots of saliva, no interest in eating, etc. please help, she's a big dog, a pit bull mixed

Poor Lady! It sounds like something is definitely wrong. These are very concerning symptoms, but unfortunately they are also very vague and could be caused by almost any kind of serious illness. Some possible causes would include liver or kidney disease, pancreatitis, pyometra (a life-threatening uterine infection that is common in unspayed female dogs), or ingestion of something toxic.

I'm afraid this sounds like it may be a life-threatening problem, so I would really recommend taking Lady to an emergency vet immediately for an exam. He/she can do some diagnostic testing if needed to help determine what's wrong and get her started on appropriate treatment for her illness.

It could be kidney failure. Without blood testing you will not be able to know for sure. I actually think it is more likely she has a pyometra since she is not spayed and based on the signs you described. A pyometra is a severe uterine infection that can be life-threatening. You really need to get her to a vet ASAP.

Joe sounds very ill, and the best thing you can do for her is take her into a vet immediately. It's quite serious that she keeps throwing up, has lost weight, is very lethargic, and hardly poops. These can be signs of a foreign body, which is fatal without treatment. Labs are notorious for eating things they should not, so this would be at the top of my differentials list. Other causes can include pancreatitis, a severe GI illness, or pyometra. Unspayed dogs are are risk of developing this life threatening infection of the uterus, which is also fatal without treatment. Joe needs to be seen now by a vet to diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can be treated. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Poor Girl! Without seeing her, I cannot say whether or not it is serious, but I am definitely concerned. She could have gotten bit by something or broken a bone and be in a lot of pain, both of which could make her not want to eat. I would try to have her seen by your vet as soon as possible so they can determine what is wrong before she gets any worse. I worry if she got bit by something poisonous that it may be more difficult to treat later if she gets worse. Your vet will be able to do blood work and even x-rays if needed to help her feel better. I hope this helps and she starts to feel better really soon!

My dog is limping, not eating/drinking, with bruising. What's wrong?

The face that she hasn’t eaten in 5 days and now won’t drink has name very concerned. Many different things could be causing her symptoms. Problems such as tick infestation like ehrlichia can cause these signs. Also fungal infections or cancer would be high on my list of possibilities. I worry that if she continues to not eat or drink she may not survive until the 1st. You may want to consider looking for financial help, applying for care credit, or calling your veterinarian for recommendations on possible funds or low cost clinics in your area. Why is my dog having diarrhea, not eating, limping, and goopy eyes?

Poor girl! It sound like she has a possible infection. Certain infections can affect the limbs and also make the pet feel yucky all around, causing a lack of appetite. I would definitely recommend taking Callie in to your vet for blood work analysis to hopefully pinpoint where the problem is and look for evidence of an infection, so that she is treated promptly with the necessary medications (I.e. Antibiotics) to help her recover from her illness.

It sounds like your dog is sick. The drooling can be due to nausea, and the lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, and diarrhea could be due to a severe GI illness, eating something rotten, pancreatitis, or a foreign body. I would take your dog into a vet right away for an exam, he sounds quite ill with all these symptoms, and he needs to be medically treated ASAP.

Oh my. These symptoms sound like a possible tick borne disease or even a septic arthritis. I would highly recommend having Scotch seen by your vet for bloodwork analysis and a test for tick diseases, especially if he has a fever. Poor guy. I hope he feels better soon. My older dog won't eat and is shaking. What could be wrong?

Lili is experiencing very general symptoms of disease, these symptoms could fit almost any internal condition, maybe she is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe she is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking her to the vet as soon as possible in order to get her checked, if she doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with her.
