My dog is limping and licking his leg. Is it safe to give pain meds?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 5 months old

Panda suddenly went lame in left hind while running around garden not fully weight bearing and chewing and licking leg sore between hip and knee and has a small scab on his inner leg in his hip area should I give metacam or wait till morning to see vet .

I would not recommend giving the Metacam until he is evaluated by a vet. While it would be good for pain control, it can be dangerous in some situations and your vet would need to determine the safety concerns and dosage.

For now, it's best to ice the affected area for 15 minutes, 2-3 times a day until he can be seen by the vet.
