How long can I store lime sulfur dip for my dog, room temp or fridge?

Yes, using the lime-sulfur dip will make the fur have a strange crunchy feel to it after it dries. I don't recommend rinsing it off as I do believe it has some residual effect even after dried that can help speed the healing/therapeutic process. Brushing can help the texture feel more normal quicker.

Also I have commonly seen user error where the applicant didn't dilute the dip properly causing superficial burns. So yes it can be dangerous if any of these things occur. Which is why I generally don't recommend Lime sulfur dips as the first choice of treatment because owners don't always read the safety precautions on the bottle and abide by them, and sometimes accidents do happen. A safer treatment for mites is either oral Bravecto, Nexgard, or Ivermectin 3% (which in itself carries some risks as well that should be discussed with your veterinarian).

Topical treatment without oral anti-fungal medication is very slow in killing off Ringworm and is only really meant to reduce contamination of ringworm. It has not been shown to cure ringworm cases when used alone, which is why we almost always use it in conjunction with an oral pill. Lime sulfur bathes are recommended in a 1:16 dilution or 8 oz per gallon of water. Dips are recommended to be done every 5-7 days until a week after lesions have cleared up. All the while the pet is being treated with an oral anti-fungal such as Fluconazole, Terbinafine or Itraconazole, daily.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is find to use the Lyme Sulfur dip even if there are scratches on the skin. Lyme sulfur dip is very drying and may cause skin irritation. Adding Humilac by Virbac or Douxo Seborrhea can help that. I hope this helps!

Hello. You can use the lime sulfur dip, just follow the dilution instructions on the bottle very carefully. Apply the dip as best you can to the affected areas, do not get it in the eyes or mouth. You will need to watch this kitty very closely to prevent her from licking or grooming the wet dip. Once it is dried, she should be fine. Repeat the treatments as indicated on the bottle. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The Bravecto will not get rid of the demodex that quickly. I tell clients it will likely take 4-8 weeks. The lyme sulfur dip works differently than the Bravecto. I would try to wait another 2 weeks as long as Evie's skin isn't getting worse. If by 4 weeks there is no improvement I would recheck with your Vet before starting a new product. I hope this helps and I wish Evie the best!
