How long can I store lime sulfur dip for my dog, room temp or fridge?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Doberman Pinscher | Male | neutered | 77 lbs

My vet recommended a lime sulfur dip for my dog's red itchy skin. I made an excess amount of the dip.. I have it in a 1 gallon container. How long can the solution be stored? Room temp? Refrigerated?

Lime sulphur dip can be stored at room temperature. The concern with long term storage is that the lime sulphur may precipitate out. This could affect efficacy. You can tell this happened if you see excess crust around the opening or solid matter in the container.
If you want specifics on how long the dip lasts, I suggest contacting the manufacturer. They usually list an 800 number or website on the bottle.
