Should I worry? My dog licked potassium permanganate. Is it toxic?

Unless you applied a huge amount of baking soda to your puppy, it is not likely that he infested enough to cause an issue. A light dusting on his fur would not be enough to be toxic. If he is acting okay, at this point I would recommend a bath. If you do not have any puppy shampoo, you can use a mild dish washing liquid soap or simply use warm water.

Certain chemicals in hair dye is known to be toxic to dogs, but it usually takes more than a lick to cause serious complications. However, I would expect some vomiting and excessive drooling from this. If you are not seeing this within the first hour after she licked it, then it's a good sign that she will not have any toxic effects. However, you should monitor her for signs of excessive vomiting, difficulty breathing, and/or lethargy as a sign that she is having serious complications. If you notice this, then take her to the vet immediately for treatment. In-fact, if there is any concern about toxicity, then it's best to take her to the vet for treatment and monitoring. If you don't notice any signs of toxicity within the next 12 hours, then most likely she will be fine. For now, it's best to give a little milk (about 1cup) and plenty of water. You are correct in thinking so. She would need to ingest much more in order to be at risk of serious toxicity. At worst, you may see some mild stomach upset if anything at all. A short fast followed by a bland diet for a few days should resolve minor upset.

This would definitely not be enough to cause any major problems and likely won't cause any problems at all. Benzoyl peroxide primarily toxic as an irritant, so at-most she may vomit, but I would not expect anything more than this. I hope that helps to make you less concerned and all goes well with Bella.

Hi there! Good job thinking quickly and inducing vomiting. I would still recommend Dexter be seen by a veterinarian, for 2 reasons: 1) potassium in large doses can potentially have effects on major organs. Your veterinarian will be able to do a through examination as well as preform blood work to check potassium levels as well as administer treatment if necessary. Sometimes IV fluids and/or other medications may be necessary, 2) hydrogen peroxide can be very hard on the stomach and intestinal lining, your veterinarian may recommend medications to protect the gastrointestinal tract. Also fluids would help Dexter feel better after all the vomiting and IV (in a vein) is the quickest way to replenish those electrolytes. If Dexter’s attitude has changed or he continues to vomit for more than a hour, or you aren’t seeing pills in the vomit he absolutely needs to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible. The type of product is not really toxic, especially in small quantities like that. You could see some mild stomach upset or mouth irritation, but that is unlikely. You can try to squirt some water in her mouth to rinse it out. Signs of a problem would be drooling, licking lips, or wanting to eat, but I don’t feel this is likely to,happen.

Because Domino only licked it, he would not have consumed enough chocolate to cause any toxicity, so it's not a problem. I would caution about giving him milk, however, as this causes GI upset in dogs and can make him vomit and have diarrhea. It's not recommended to give milk when dogs consume chocolate, as it does nothing to help with the symptoms of chocolate toxicity.
