My dog licked Bath & Body Works lotion. Is a tiny bit toxic?

You are correct in thinking so. She would need to ingest much more in order to be at risk of serious toxicity. At worst, you may see some mild stomach upset if anything at all. A short fast followed by a bland diet for a few days should resolve minor upset.

I am sorry that Cuddles is trying to eat your hair product but good news she will likely be just fine. This would definitely not be enough to cause any major problems and likely won't cause any problems at all. That was naughty of your dog to eat the sample size baby lotion! The good news is that baby lotion typically isn't toxic to dogs, but it could cause some GI upset in the form of vomiting or diarrhea. The concern is the package that the lotion came in. If it came in a plastic bottle, I would be concerned about the bottle getting stuck in her GI tract. In this case, yes I think taking her to the vet would be the best option. The vet can induce vomiting to get the bottle out so there is no chance of obstruction. I would take her into a vet now. If she didn't eat a plastic bottle and you do see some GI signs, I can give you a home remedy that may help. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, she has diarrhea in the absence of food or on the bland diet, she stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Certain chemicals in hair dye is known to be toxic to dogs, but it usually takes more than a lick to cause serious complications. However, I would expect some vomiting and excessive drooling from this. If you are not seeing this within the first hour after she licked it, then it's a good sign that she will not have any toxic effects. However, you should monitor her for signs of excessive vomiting, difficulty breathing, and/or lethargy as a sign that she is having serious complications. If you notice this, then take her to the vet immediately for treatment. In-fact, if there is any concern about toxicity, then it's best to take her to the vet for treatment and monitoring. If you don't notice any signs of toxicity within the next 12 hours, then most likely she will be fine. For now, it's best to give a little milk (about 1cup) and plenty of water. Usually only small quantities are ingested and are not harmful at all. Occasional diarrhoea and vomiting episodes may be noticed, but should be self limiting.
