Why is my dog lethargic, not eating, or walking after a dog attack?

You should get your dog to a vet immediately for a thorough examination as there may have been some serious damage done that is not obvious. Hopefully not and it is just the development of some muscle pain etc but at the very least the vet will be able to give some pain relief, alongside peace of mind.

Poor Reese! I'm afraid these are very concerning signs. I would be concerned that she may have internal injuries as a result of the dog attack, which can be very serious or even life-threatening. I would recommend taking her to an emergency clinic tonight to be seen. The veterinarian there can examine her, listen to her heart and lungs, palpate her abdomen, and may recommend x-rays or other testing if needed to help determine what's wrong.

I would be concerned that Bell hasn't returned to normal after 12-24 hours. While heat injury is possible usually dogs have issues sooner than now such as seizures, diarrhea, bruising and/or collapse. She could have a problem with her GI tract, something stuck in her esophagus or even a respiratory issues causing her changes. If she continues to cough, seems lethargic/lack of energy, or has any vomiting, diarrhea or continues to have a decreased appetite today she needs to be seen by a veterinarian. I would try calling your veterinarian today as they sometimes have an oncall service or an emergency veterinarian on call to answer questions as well.

Based on what you are describing I would be concerned that Lexi either injured herself while playing ball outside or has some G.I. upset from ingesting a plastic block. I would keep an eye on her tonight and see if she’s interested in eating her dinner. If she still lethargic and not acting like herself in the morning you may want to consider taking her to the vet to be examined. If she has an intestinal blockage she will need to be monitored closely with X-rays to determine if surgery is required to have it removed. Since Beki is exhibiting a variety of symptoms (not eating and walking abnormally) I would recommend you take her to the veterinarian to be checked out. She could be suffering from back/spinal pain or abdominal pain from something like pancreatitis. A physical examination by your veterinarian will help determine the cause of her discomfort. That sounds serious and I recommend to have Bailey seen today by her veterinarian. The main things that come to mind are an injury of some sort or congenital abnormality to the neck or spine. Any injury however to the legs could look like this if Bailey is in so much pain that she does not want to move. Severe GI pain from an intestinal blockage may also look like this. An infection could also make a pet not want to move around and feel very bad. Regardless, it's been going on for a week and it's not going away. It could be that Bailey is feeling painful at the moment, and that would cause the lethargy and growling when you try to pick him up. He could also have an upset stomach causing him to feel lethargic and not want his stomach touched. Without further symptoms, I cannot narrow down further I'm afraid, so I would recommend monitoring him tonight. Should these symptoms continue through to the morning or he develops additional symptoms such as vomiting, anorexia, or a reluctance to move, I would take Bailey into the vet.
