Dog lethargic after trip & heat. Should I worry about heartworms?

It sounds like Leia is lethargic. Lethargy is a very general sign of illness, and it ca be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. Keep an eye on her tonight, and if she is still acting this way in the morning, have her seen by a vet.

He could simply be tired, but if it goes on for more than 24 hours, I'd recommend a check up with his vet to make sure nothing is going on. He could have pulled a muscle or eaten something more than you realized during the visit. If he's not eating, extremely lethargic, or vomiting, I'd go to the vet ASAP.

This treatment could cause lethargy, it's quite common and this is one of the reason restriction is a must. if she becomes too lethargic you might need to take her to the ER, especially if you notice abnormal breathing.

Poor guy. A number of things could be going on internally to cause lethargy. I wouldn’t expect the hit by car incident to cause issues this far out, so there may be some other internal cause. Unfortunately lethargy can be caused by just about any and all disease processes (ie IMHA, Addison’s disease, underlying heart disease, etc) so it’s impossible to presume what could be causing this without running some tests. Therefore I recommend taking Charlie to your veterinarian for a proper examination and testing (bloodwork +/- radiographs). For most dogs, symptoms of whipworm would be diarrhea possibly with blood in it, but I wouldn't expect lethargy unless she has so many whipworms that she's anemia. I would recommend letting your vet know this is going on -- they may want her to come back in for evaluation. I'm concerned something else could be going on totally unrelated to the whipworms.

Poor Luna! She may benefit from intravenous fluids. Have you veterinarian check some bloodwork to see if her liver or kidneys were affected. You may also ask your veterinarian if pain medication would be beneficial. Without being able to examine Luna myself, it's difficult to know how best to advise you. She could have a systemic infection or other condition. I think it is unlikely that her lethargy is related to the deworming tablets, since those were given 2 weeks ago and usually symptoms develop shortly after ingestion. I would recommend having Sandi seen by a veterinarian so that they can perform an examination and discuss the need for additional diagnostics. They may recommend performing bloodwork.
