My dog's leg is swollen and curled after surgery. Is it nerve damage?

There could be some swelling from inflammation but it would be a good idea to have your vet rechecked the leg to make sure there is not an infection. If so, your vet may need to add or change antibiotics. Your vet could also prescribe an anti-inflammatory to help with the swelling.

The leash must be removed immediately to relieve the obstruction of the blood flow. If the leg is evidently distorted or broken or her foot is cold to touch she needs urgent vet care otherwise monitor for a reduction in swelling and discomfort over 12 hours or so

I could see how the leg could be stiff if he lay on it all night. That happens to me sometimes if I lay on one arm all night while sleeping. It's a good idea to have him checked out by a vet on Monday. Best of luck.

Poor Nico! Nico needs to see his veterinarian today. A swollen leg could indicate infection, a soft tissue injury or even something like a fractured bone. It's possible she has injured her back. many times there will not be any signs on a physical exam until the injury happens. Certainly an injury to the joints of the leg are also possible. I recommend to try to get her examined as soon as you can. A back injury can become chronic and serious in nature (just like humans). Be up front with the doctor about your cost concerns. Until you have her examined, she needs exercise restriction so NO running, jumping, going for walks, stairs or getting on the furniture. It sounds like the leg is very painful, and I would not try to examine it yourself as she may get upset. Instead, I recommend taking her into the vet to have it examined, and have some pain medication prescribed. It's best to have a vet examine it to make sure the underlying structures weren't damaged by getting twisted up in the shower curtain. Please do not give her any human pain medications, many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Because she had this accident last week and is still not using the leg, I would take her into the vet today.
