My dog pulled on leash, now won't put weight on leg. Is he hurt?

My dog which is a mix and 6 months old and weighs 50 pounds I had him on a leash the next door neighbor dogs came out and he went running towards them and befor I could stop him the leash got tight and he turned 180 really fast he won't put pressure on it don't see any swelling I've been putting ice on what I think is hurt

Hi there! It's hard to tell if you mean that one of his legs is hurt, or his neck? If it is one of his legs, and he is able to bear weight on it, then it is unlikely to be broken or dislocated. If it is his neck, then carefully icing the area (with a towel between the ice and his skin) would be helpful! If he seems really uncomfortable, or if you are worried, it never hurts to get him checked out at your local clinic. They will likely be able to prescribe some pain medication, and take some XRays if needed. Hope this helps!
