My 11-month dog is lazy and overheating after vet. Should I go back?

Lethargy and a low grade fever could certainly be a sign of an active infection. I would take Laddu to the vet for some further work up. He will be able to assess her level of hydration and perform a full physical exam for any other abnormalities. He may want to obtain some blood work to better assess the problem at hand. The blood work will reveal indications of different types of infection / inflammation, electrolyte imbalances, and organ failure. Certain tests also exist to scan for particular tick-borne diseases. Yes, some dogs will choose to be more active during the cooler part of the day. If Charlie isn’t more active in the evening, or his laziness is associated with a poor appetite, increased breathing rate, vomiting or any other signs, it would be best to have him checked out by a vet.

I'm sorry Molly doesn't seem to be doing well at the moment! It is concerning that she has been lethargic, slow moving, and has had no energy today. That being said, it's good there are no other signs of illness and the rest of her behavior is normal. I know it's summer in Australia currently and I imagine it's very hot there! It could be the heat is getting to her, so I'd make sure that she has a cool spot to rest in, and maybe put a fan on her if your home doesn't have a/c. Also make sure she has access to plenty of fresh, cool water. I wouldn't rush her into an ER vet just yet, I would monitor her tonight. If she is still acting like this in the morning, then take her into the vet. Should she start vomiting, refuses to eat, or develops other symptoms such as diarrhea, a fever, panting, increased drooling, red gums, and decreased urine production, then yes I would rush her into an ER vet right away. That seems unusual for a young dog so I do recommend a veterinary exam to make sure there is no problem with his heart and lungs. They will listen to his heart and lungs and perhaps take an X-ray too. A blood panel to check for anemia is also indicated. If you have a thermometer you can take her temperature to check if she is overheated. You can lubricate the thermometer with vaseline/ky jelly/ or similar lubricant and insert about an inch into the rectum. If her temperature is over 102.5 then it is high. If she is acting lethargic and not eating or drinking well then these symptoms are concerning and should be investigated by a vet. There are many possibilities for these symptoms because they are so general. The vet may be able to narrow down causes with an exam, or they may need to do bloodwork on your dog for a better idea of the cause. If her temperature is high then she could have a fever or if it is very warm in your house could be suffering from heat stroke. You have done the right thing bathing her in cool water and providing a fan but she still needs to see a vet because there can be long term consequences such as severe GI irritation and infection if a dog has suffered heat stroke.

If it's quite hot where you are, that can explain why Snowball isn't playing as much as usual. That would be a good thing, as playing too much in the heat will lead to heat stroke, which is too often fatal. I would keep an eye on her, and make sure she stays as cool as possible. Lethargy is a very vague symptom so there are many different possible causes, but your vet can do a physical examination to try to narrow down the possiblities for her lethargy. This in combination with a good history and sometimes labwork will help pinpoint the cause of her lethargy and how best to treat the condition.
