My Chihuahua has labyrinthitis and can't walk. Is there a treatment?

Regardless, this warrants an evaluation by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They can diagnose this issue so that therapy can be started. Best of luck!

Poor Gizmo. He could have an ear infection, vestibular disease, or possibly a tumor. He should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He may need an antibiotic or other medications to help. Hope he feels better soon!

If the disease is truly idiopathic then just supportive care is all that can be done. There are some medication to your veterinarian could prescribe to help Maggie feel better such as for nausea and dizziness. However if you feel Maggie is doing better sometimes just letting the disease take it's course is all that can be done. I would recommend your veterinarian at least be updated on Maggie's condition is they may want to see her for other reasons.

Thanks for using PetCoach! It sounds like Bruno could have "old dog idiopathic vestibular syndrome". There is more information below but we don't know why it happens and in general it usually gets better within a few days. Of course, we can never rule out a middle ear infection, brain tumor, or other problem so I always recommend seeing a vet. Hi. Poor Bo Luke. Sounds like he most likely has an ear infection. Sometimes these can be in the middle or inner ear, or be bad enough to spread there from outter ear. This can then cause pain, lethargy, swelling, head tilting, and walking as if drunk/ to one side. He will need an exam, ear exam, ear cytology to see if yeast or bacterial, then put on the correct medications, and pain medications! With these signs, I would take him to ER tonight. He is pprobably pretty uncomfortable. Good luck

I am sorry that Chico is not feeling well. You could try feeding him a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice incase he is more interested in that than his dog food. However, it is possible he is not eating if he is nauseous from being dizzy. Dogs can have vestibular disease, where they loose the balance, and this can make them nauseous and not want to eat. I would recommend keeping him comfortable in a warm safe place until you can get him to the vet in the morning. However, if at any time you think he is having trouble breathing or in pain I would recommend a 24 hour emergency clinic this evening. Hope the feels better soon

The lesion on her nose could sure be due to Leishmania which is prevalent in the Middle East however, it could be due to other causes. Was any testing done to confirm the leishmania? Cytology, biopsy, histopathology, serology? There is no cure for Leishmania however, treatment can often keep the disease at bay. Treatment is lifelong is most cases. If organ failure/involvement is already present then the likelihood the of the medications working is minimal. Also, treatment is often expensive and cost prohibitive for many people. The prognosis overall is not great.
