My dog gets monthly advantix flea treatment but today we found a flea on him! I even made a post yesterday because he was itchy near his anus but i didnt think it could be a flea due to the fact he has treatment! Is advantix not good? Could he be itchy due to that flea?

Poor Mushu, he must be very uncomfortable! Severe itching can be a sign of sarcoptes mutes, which are not treated effectively by advantix. It may also be due to sensitivity to something he has been in contact with,, possibly the advantix. Your vet can prescribe antiinflammatory medications to ease the discomfort, a topical spray and injectable medications are usually sufficient. Aloe Vera or an oatmeal shampoo with cool water may help in the meantime. I recommend converting to an alternative flea prevention when next treatment is due as a precaution
