How to treat my dog's itchy bumps and scabs on private area and legs?

I am not sure if this is a repost but I thought I answered you question previously. Anyways the most common reasons for itchy skin with bumps in a young dogs is allergies. The allergies can be secondary to fleas, environmental or food allergies. I would recommend apply flea prevention every 30 days. Also you can try an over the counter anti histamine and medicated shampoo. However this migh be strong enough to stop the itch and get rid of the infection. I would recommend taking Tigre to a vet for a good exam and proper medications. Hope that helps.

That is an understandable concern. It appears he has a very bad case of folliculitis, which can be caused by several things including a Demodexx mite infestation, a contact allergy, environmental allergy or flea allergy. He needs to first go on a good flea preventative (Nexgard, Bravecto, etc) and then have a skin scrape/cytology done to look for possible mites. He definitely needs a short course of antibiotics to treat for his current skin infection and then medication depending on the results of his skin scrape/cytology. It's difficult to tell exactly what's going on here without seeing the lesion and being able to do some testing, but I am suspicious of a skin infections. These infections can be due to fungi, bacteria, parasites, or all of the above. There is often a primary problem that causes the itch, so if Maggie has been itching for a while, then it's best to get the source of the itch discovered by a vet. I'll give you a few tips for dealing with a skin infection, but if the lesion gets worse, or is not getting any better within a week of treatment, then I'd recommend you have a vet evaluate Maggie. I recommend doing the following every day until the skin appears normal again: 1) Clip the hair around the area and expose all of the lesions. 2) Wash the area with warm water and a medicated shampoo (can get this at the pet store) once a day. Both conditions can be treated with medication prescribed by your veterinarian. The medication is fast acting and will have Amais feeling better quickly. Also, they will be able to determine the cause of the itch and check if anything else is wrong with Amais. I would book him in for an appointment within the next day or so with a veterinarian.
