What's this spot on my dog's inner thigh? Hot spot? Will it heal?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 10 months and 18 days old | 63 lbs

I found this spot on Max’s inner thighs. Is this considered a hot spot or something different? Would this typically heal on its own?

That area could be an area of healing bacterial infection. However it could also be related to ringworm or mites. It's likely that the area is in the healing process so I suspect it will be completely resolved in a few days. However, if it doesn't resolve or the area starts to grow larger or becomes itchy Max should he examined by a veterinarian.
