My dog has inflamed tissue. Is it serious and should I see a vet?

I highly recommend bringing Boo to a veterinarian. This needs to be cleaned up and most likely needs antibiotics. I am concerned because in the picture it looks like a growth and if that is the case it is recommended to remove it. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

However, it would still be a good idea to have him evaluated by a veterinarian to look at it more closely in case it is deeper than what it looks like. Also, these can be painful and can get infected so your veterinarian could potentially start antibiotics and pain control medications. However, just like you pointed out, there may be a foreign body stuck in there or something else causing an infection. I recommend that you have Tank evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and treat accordingly. Antibiotics can be started and they can also check to see if there is something stuck there that they can remove to provide comfort and also prevent the infection from reoccurring. Hi, I would recommend to have it checked over. Sutro could benefit from some pain relief and some medications to reduce the swelling. It should not be anything life threatening but obviously the sooner the better in terms of making her comfortable. Or it could also be something like a severe infection. I would highly recommend you consider going back to your veterinarian if she currently has the rash.
