My eight month old dog started her first "period" last week and I have seen her vomit a couple of times or more with yellow foam. She also feels warmer than normal but when I check her temperature, it's their normal temp (38.6). She doesn't have energy recently, always sleeping and stays under the bed all the time. Is it normal for dogs to act like this during their "period"?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your puppy. A heat cycle can change a dog's behavior, but it is not normal to be as lethargic as you have described. Most dogs do not vomit either. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian to ensure that she is not sick. You do not want to overlook an illness by blaming it on her cycle. I hope this information helps!
