When will my female dog go into heat after having a litter of puppies?

Dogs typically go into heat every 6-8 months. If you feel like you can spot the beginning of a heat cycle right away you might be able to wait since she's showing no signs now, but I would definitely keep her separated from the male whenever they are unsupervised. Pregnancy in dogs do not vary much, except for the number of pups and the length of the pregnancy to some extent. The normal gestation length for a dog is about 63 days so I would expect her to have puppies by now if she were pregnant. I think you can safely breed her at her next heat cycle which will probably occur in the next two months. If she had a litter of pups a couple months ago I would recommend skipping one heat cycle before breeding again so the bitch can fully recover.
